About Laurie

My goal in life is to help people be well with food.

“Well” in the physical, biological sense, using food to nutritionally drive the body into health. But also “well” in the emotional sense—to have a joyful, satisfied relationship with food.

As with all passions, mine arises out of who I am and who I have been.

I am a Registered Dietitian now. With a Masters degree in food and nutrition, I have a license to talk to you about your health and how nutrition impacts it. I understand your diagnosis (or fear of one), the medications you take and I know how to help you find the right foods to support your particular biology.

Before I dove into my nutritional passions, I was a Minister (Unitarian Universalist) for many years. I spent many hours practicing compassionate listening with the very lovely people I served. That counseling experience still serves me (and you) well.

Ministry called me to love people all the way to the darkest corner of the soul.

Nutrition calls me to love people all the way to the hungriest part of the cell.

Who wouldn’t want this job?

Some very important values come with me from living and caring for so many people and the world we inhabit. Abundance with simplicity (gorgeous food, simply prepared). Food that nurtures the body and also the soul. Zero judgment. Mindful, intentional eating.  Irreverent humor.  You’ll find these reflected on every page of my site.

Warmly,

Laurie Bilyeu, MS RD LDN
